Road legality
A GVM upgrade is only legal once it is certified for your vehicle: depending on the kit it is fitted before first registration (second-stage manufacturer approval) or after registration with an engineering certificate, and your placard and registration are updated. Fit at an authorised installer and keep the paperwork with the vehicle. A combined lift over 50mm generally needs engineering in most states.

Built for the build
The Prado 250 leaves the factory with only 580-615kg of payload, which a bar, drawers and passengers use up quickly. This certified kit raises GVM to 3,520kg with uprated springs and dampers tuned for the 48V mild-hybrid 2.8. It is fitted by authorised installers with the certification paperwork supplied.
