Road legality

A GVM upgrade is only legal once it is certified for your vehicle: depending on the kit it is fitted before first registration (second-stage manufacturer approval) or after registration with an engineering certificate, and your placard and registration are updated. Fit at an authorised installer and keep the paperwork with the vehicle. A combined lift over 50mm generally needs engineering in most states.

Built for the build

The LC300's 3,280kg factory GVM leaves little payload once it carries a bar, drawers, water and a family. This certified kit raises GVM to 4,000kg with uprated coils and dampers and a lift of about 2in, so the 300 tours at its real weight legally. Suits every LC300 grade; the GR Sport (e-KDSS) uses its own version, so choose your grade.
