What we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how to access or correct your information.

About this policy

This policy explains how O Squared Motorsport, operated by OSQUAREDMOTORSPORT PTY LTD (ABN 58 703 468 400) (“we”, “us”), handles personal information. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Even where the Privacy Act wouldn't require it of a business our size, we follow the APPs for all personal information we handle.

What we collect

  • Contact and delivery details — your name, email, phone number, and delivery and billing addresses.
  • Order details — what you bought, when, the price paid and order communications.
  • Vehicle details — the make, model, year and variant you tell us about, and any build details or VIN you choose to share for fitment checks.
  • Payment information — processed by our payment providers. We don't store full card numbers.
  • Messages and preferences — contact form messages, emails, newsletter and Club waitlist sign-ups.
  • Technical information — IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and cookies or similar technologies.

You can browse without telling us who you are. We can't fill an order or answer a question anonymously, though.

How we collect it

  • Directly from you — when you place an order, contact us, join a list or enter your vehicle.
  • Automatically — through cookies and your browser's local storage. Your cart and My Garage vehicle are saved in your own browser.
  • From third parties — such as payment and buy-now-pay-later providers (Afterpay and Zip), couriers (delivery status) and suppliers (dispatch and tracking updates).

How we use it

  • To process, fulfil and deliver your orders
  • To check fitment and answer your questions
  • To handle returns, warranty claims and consumer guarantee remedies
  • To take payment and prevent fraud
  • To send marketing, such as new drops and Club news, where you've agreed to it
  • To understand and improve how our website works
  • To meet our legal obligations, including tax record-keeping

Who we share it with

Many orders ship directly from the distributor or manufacturer that holds the stock. To make that work, we share the details they need — your name, delivery address, phone number and the items ordered — with that supplier.

We may also share personal information with:

  • couriers and freight providers
  • payment and buy-now-pay-later providers (Afterpay and Zip)
  • providers of hosting, email, analytics and customer-service tools
  • professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers
  • government agencies or law enforcement where the law requires or allows it

We don't sell your personal information.

Overseas disclosure

Some parts ship from international suppliers, so we may disclose your delivery details to suppliers overseas. Some of our service providers may also store data outside Australia. Likely countries include China (for parts made and shipped by our overseas manufacturing partners), the United States (website hosting, email delivery and payment processing) and countries in the European Union where those providers run data centres. We take reasonable steps to make sure overseas recipients handle your information consistently with the APPs.

Marketing emails

We only send marketing emails with your consent or where the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) otherwise allows it. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. Order and service emails (like dispatch notices) will still be sent.

Cookies and local storage

We use essential browser storage to remember your cart and My Garage vehicle. With your consent, we may also use analytics cookies to understand how the site is used (see below for the providers currently in use). You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings — some features may not work without them.

Analytics & advertising cookies

Optional cookies stay off until you choose. On your first visit a banner lets you allow analytics cookies, marketing cookies, both or neither — “Essential only” is as easy as “Accept all”. We remember your choice in your browser for 12 months and ask again if we add a new kind of cookie. We don't use any analytics or advertising cookies at the moment.

  • Essential — always on. Your cart, My Garage vehicle, checkout security (including a one-hour cookie that opens your order confirmation page) and your cookie choice. These stay in your browser and aren't used for analytics or advertising.
  • Analytics — only with your consent. None in use right now. Helps us see which pages and parts people look at, how the cart and checkout perform, and order values. Google says Google Analytics 4 doesn't log or store IP addresses.
  • Marketing — only with your consent. None in use right now. Measures which of our ads lead to visits and orders, and lets those platforms show you relevant ads. If you're signed in to one of these platforms, it may link this activity to your account under its own privacy policy.

What we send. Cookie identifiers, the pages you view, products viewed and added to your cart, checkout steps, and for an order its total, tax, shipping and order number. We never send your name, email address, phone number or delivery address to these providers. Your order reference never appears in the address of our order confirmation page (we move it into a short-lived, essential cookie that only our server reads before any of these tags load), so the providers don't receive it as part of the page address, and we mask email addresses and long numbers in search terms.

How consent works. We use Google Consent Mode: Google's tags start with every optional setting “denied”, and no analytics or advertising script loads until you allow its category. If you withdraw consent, those tags stop for the rest of your visit and we delete their cookies from our site.

Where it goes. These providers may store and process data outside Australia, mainly in the United States and the European Union. Their policies: listed here once any are in use. Analytics data is kept for no more than 14 months.

Keeping it secure

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access — including encrypted connections, access controls and working with reputable providers. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we'll notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

We keep personal information only as long as we need it, including to meet tax and legal record-keeping requirements, then delete or de-identify it.

Access and correction

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. Email support@osquaredmotorsport.com and we'll respond within a reasonable time — within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first.

If you have a question or complaint about privacy, contact our privacy officer at support@osquaredmotorsport.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
